Speaker: Eric Vaughan
Eric Vaughan, director of bike share and business services for BikeWalkKC, will discuss the unique public-private-non-profit partnership that helped to launch a wave of new electric-assist bikes and scooters throughout Kansas City. He will also explain how electric-assist bikes and scooters work, how they differ from the competitors, and where they can operate. Like many places around the country, scooters are part of a wave of emerging options in micro-mobility, and understanding the opportunities RideKC options present can empower residents, neighborhoods, and businesses alike.
Eric keeps the Kansas City bike share system running smoothly, including customer support, sales, corporate membership, station planning, and outreach. He also leads our businesses-focused services like bike parking and bike friendly businesses.
BikeWalkKC is a member-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to make Greater Kansas City a safer and more accessible place to walk, bicycle, live, work, and play.
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) strives to provide a safe, reliable and innovative system that grows to meet the changing transit needs of metropolitan Kansas City. The KCATA is responsible for planning, construction, owning and operating passenger transportation systems and facilities within the seven-county Kansas City metropolitan area - Cass, Clay, Jackson, and Platte in Missouri; and Johnson, Leavenworth, and Wyandotte in Kansas.
The KCATA operates RideKC bus service, the MAX Bus Rapid Transit service, Flex demand-response routes, RideKC Freedom paratransit service for the elderly and persons with disabilities, and RideKC Van vanpool service.
