2018 September Luncheon - McCown Gordon New Headquarters

25.00

Speakers:

  • Pat Contreras - McCown Gordon

  • Dan Moye - Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City

  •  Erika Moody - Principal + Interior Designer, Helix

As a project development manager and government affairs expert, Pat Contreras helps lead the business development team for McCownGordon Construction; one of the region’s largest construction firms.  Pat started his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.  While at the Fed, he led strategies that helped unbanked families receive financial literacy education and get access to traditional banking services.  Pat later joined the U.S. State Department as a Foreign Service Officer serving tours in Pakistan and Mexico.  The allure of strengthening U.S. national security and business abroad drew him in.  He served during both the Bush and Obama administrations and recently (2016) ran for State Treasurer in Missouri.  His campaign won the endorsements of some of the most well-heeled politicians, organizations and media in the state yet, despite a hard-fought battle, elected office eluded him.  Pat has not lost the desire to provide his home state with dynamic and innovative leadership and future campaigns are likely for the Missourian. He serves on various boards and commissions, most notably, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority, the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City and Truman Medical Centers.  A man from humble beginnings, Pat Contreras is the first in his family to proudly graduate from college. He holds a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in economics from Columbia University.

Dan Moye has worked for the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City since April 2015 and his duties include a variety development initiatives including urban redevelopment, economic incentives, and coordination of the review of significant development incentive projects. Previously, Dan spent 14 months working for Sunflower Development in Kansas City and 4 years with Jackson County, MO. In those roles, he developed a breadth of knowledge and experience ranging from transit and healthcare initiatives to low income housing tax credit and historic tax credit development projects
