Speaker: Ron Coker, Senior Vice President - General Manager, Water Global Practice from Burns & McDonnell 

As senior vice president and general manager of Burns & McDonnell's Water Group, Ron is responsible for all operational aspects of the firm's water business globally.

Ron serves as officer in charge for the firm's projects with the City of Kansas City, Mo. Currently, Ron is leading implementation efforts for Kansas City's 25-year, $4.5 billion combined sewer overflow control program. This massive program is under way to reduce sewer overflows from the city's combined and separate sewer systems. Prior to Ron's work on the sewer program, Ron led project delivery for the City's Capital Improvements Management Office. This unique public-private partnership pushed hundreds of projects into design and construction and led more than $1 billion in public works improvements. The program was recognized by the U.S. Conference of Mayors for excellence in public/private partnerships.

During Ron's career, he has served as project director and project manager for a number of multi-million dollar projects in the water, public works, aviation, manufacturing, industrial process, mining and energy sectors. 

Ron is involved with a number of civic organizations including his current role as board chair for the Downtown Council of Kansas City. Ron also serves on the board of directors for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Chamber of Commerce, Hawthorn Foundation, and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.
