Speaker: Mayor Quinton Lucas

Mayor Quinton Lucas kicked off our first ever virtual meeting in April of 2020, and it is fitting that he will share his remarks with us again after a full year of virtual luncheons. How have we, as a city, weathered this pandemic? What have we learned? How do we want to rebuild our economy differently? With a new City Manager on the team, Mayor Lucas isn’t finished yet.

Inaugural Jared Miller Award Presentation

Former board member Jared Miller was an exceptional human being who worked to enact change to make Kansas City and the world a better place. He served on the KC Downtowners board as President in 2016-2017. His passion for Kansas City was felt by everyone he encountered, and his efforts had a notable positive impact. Unfortunately, we lost Jared in April of 2019.

The KC Downtowners would like to honor his memory with the Jared Miller Award acknowledging the contributions of others who like Jared who are dedicated the quality and success of the Kansas City Community. Each year we will ask for nominators and present the Jared Miller Award to up and coming individuals who exhibit selfless service to their community. The inaugural award will be presented to his family.
