The KC Downtowners welcomes any and all newcomers. We host monthly luncheons on the second Wednesday of each month, plus one or two social events per year. May 2025 Luncheon

The next KC Downtowners luncheon is scheduled to be in-person at the Kansas City Central Library! Join us from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14th for networking, lunch, and to hear from our speaker.

Monthly Luncheon Cost: $30 with pre-paid registration (no in-person registration available)
Parking: Validated parking at the library parking garage is included.

Michael Collins, Grayson Capital

Speaker: Michael Collins of Grayson Capital, speaking about some exciting upcoming developments!

Join us at our May luncheon to hear from Michael Collins as he updates us on a new multifamily development in the downtown area, along with the new Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and hotel in the Jazz District.

Michael has created and executed broad real estate investment, development and structured finance strategies which have created nearly $3 billion in commercial real estate investment, development, and infrastructure related projects and transactions. Such broad experience in property types include multifamily, healthcare, office, medical and public infrastructure projects.

Collins served as a founding board member of the Kansas City Streetcar Authority, which provides oversight of the formation, launch and operation of the $100M transit system.

Michael currently serves as immediate past chairman of the Board of Trustees for Park University, a private, non-profit institution that offers multiple education delivery platforms for high quality education. He also serves as a board member of the Truman Medical Centers Board of Directors.

Michael also served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Economic Advisory Council; which focuses on economic briefings and presentations to the Bank president on financial economics, international trade and monetary policy.

Collins earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science at Park University; while working for U.S. Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond. He then attended Rockhurst University earning a Master of Business Administration, with emphasis on competitive analysis and finance. Michael also attended executive education at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
